Meditation for Peace - Help from your Friends

In order to make changes in your life you need to reach a relaxed state to recharge and build the energy to move forward.

Read through the following meditation.  Then close your eyes and remember as much as you can.

Peace Meditation

Take a few deep breaths.  With each breath out, let go of of each worry and concern.  You will not need these where we are going.

Find yourself walking through a forest.  Hear the sound of the birds around you.  The rustle of the trees and the leaves crunching under your feet.

You feel totally at home in this forest.  You know you are in the right place at exactly the right time.

Nothing can harm you here as you are surrounded by friends.  Soon a bird lands on a tree ahead of you.

What does the bird look like?  What color is it? How large is it?  What does it's call sound like?  Does this type of bird mean anything to you?

The bird sends you a welcome and then flies away.

As you walk, a rabbit peaks out at you.  The rabbit comes closer and looks at you closely.  As you look in the rabbit's eyes you get another welcome.  You get the feeling that the rabbit knows you and is happy to see you.

The rabbit then hops away down the path and you follow.  The rabbit takes you towards a hut and hops inside.  You follow him and you know this is your home.

As you look around the hut at all of your things, animals keep coming to the door to greet you.

Finally a bear comes to the door.  What does this bear look like?  What color is the bear?  How big is the bear?  What characteristics does Bear have that you could learn from? Bear also welcomes you and promises to protect you if you ever need it.

You feel cared for and supported surrounded by these friends.  You feel that you are connected to the world and in the perfect place for you.

You know you have used your gifts to communicate with the animals around you to build the perfect life for yourself.  You feel at peace and content.

Enjoy this feeling as you interact with some of your friends.  You may ask any questions that are concerning you to the animals around you and see what answers you receive.

When you are ready, bid your friends goodbye and begin to walk back through the forest.  Begin to hear the sounds around your physical body.  Wiggle your fingers and toes, and when you feel ready, open your eyes.

Now it is time to process your meditation and learn more through journaling.  If you do not want to write you can draw, collage (physical or digital), sing or dance.  Think about the following questions and use some creative outlet to express what you find.
