Room (Deck) of Requirement

It is time to take stock of what you currently need in your life. Take some time for yourself.  If you feel energized, find a way to be creative at this time and you may be amazed at what you can do.

Here is a guided meditation to help you discover what is lacking in your life right now.

Take a few deep breaths and close your eyes.  Find yourself on a deck overlooking a beautiful green landscape.  Take in all of the varieties of green in front of you and the beauty of the land.  Feel gratitude for being allowed to visit this place and view the landscape around you.  Do you recognize this place?  Is it somewhere you have visited in your physical body, seen in some form of media or is it totally new to you?  Breathe deeply.  Is the air warm or cool?  Does it feel humid or dry?  What are the sounds around you?  Can you hear animals or water nearby?

How do you feel in the place?  What do you want to do while you are here?  Do you feel the need to be creative or just relax?  Sit down on the deck and look out, allowing this feeling to fill you up.  If you feel the need to create something, you will find that you have everything you need in a basket on the deck.  There may be books for reading, or paints, or journals.  Whatever you need.  The basket may also have pillows for you to get more comfortable and rest or doze.  Are you surprised by what you need in this place?

Enjoy the freedom to just follow what you are compelled to do.  Continue to breathe deeply and listen fully to the sounds around you.  Soon you are joined by a guide on the deck.  They sit by you companionably in silence for a bit.  You may begin to chat about the beauty of this place with your guide.  You can ask them where you are if you aren’t sure.

Discuss the feeling you have in this place and why you think these came up for you.  Is there something you are lacking in your physical life that you can only find here?  You may ask your guide any questions that come up for you.  Ask your guide if they need anything from you, and if you can, give it gratefully.  Your guide then rises and gives you a hug.  In that hug, you feel all of their love and support and know it is always there for you to receive.  Your guide walks off the deck after saying goodbye for now.

You sit and enjoy the deck for as long as you need to, in order to feel rejuvenated.  When you feel ready you can start to feel the sounds around your physical body.  Wiggle your fingers and toes, and open your eyes.

Take some notes for further clarity:

What did you feel compelled to do in the beautiful place in your meditation?

What would be your dream vacation right now?

What need would this vacation fulfill?

When is the last time you took some time off, even if it was just an afternoon?

Can you schedule a break into your calendar over the next month, even if it is just for an hour, with no obligations?
